Went and got my novavax & flu shots today, hopefully they don't knock me out too bad 🤞 Also Tilly is slowly getting more and more cuddly with me >:3 she's started climbing on top of me during her breakfast wake-up calls and sat in bed with me soliciting scritches for a good 15 minutes today too.

I started playing Dredge a few days ago and I'm enjoying it way more than I thought I would - not that I thought it was going to be like. boring or whatever, I just don't usually play fishing games so I wasn't sure what to expect. I might be playing it a little too cautiously though lol I think I totally missed my chance to investigate that big red light from the first ~week of game time. Well that's just how it goes sometimes... but I wish the fishmonger would stop rubbing it in whenever I go to sell my catch lol

Also I'm obsessed with this biscochito flavored tea I bought recently. I'd never heard of the cookies before this but the tea is delicious (it's a hojicha base with cinnamon and anise (usually I dislike anise but idk there's just something about it in this tea...)) so now I really want to try the cookies themselves (or even try making my own).

I ended up getting that mobile tablet for my birthday after all and it's already making it sooo much easier for me to just pick up and draw whenever I feel like it so I think this was a good decision. I even sprung for the CSP mobile plan -- partially because I forgot procreate was only for ios lol but also because I just like clip studio enough for it. I'm not on any other subscription plans for anything else right now (unless you count patreon) so it's fiiine.

Hold on. I was just wondering why it was taking so long for my prescriptions to refill and it turns out mychart says they got approved 5 whole days ago. BUT I DIDN'T GET ANY NOTIFICATIONS ABOUT THIS... HELLO? well I wouldn't really have been able to pick up in the middle of thanksgiving prep hell but I could have at least called them to let them know that. Anyway they're not even open on sundays so I'll just have to set a reminder to do it on monday.

Yesterday our beef delivery showed up a full half-hour before I was scheduled to clock in (already 2 hours before we even open) so I had to haul it all in before I'd even gotten a chance to do my daily stretches and I'm really feeling it today -____- The delivery drivers usually help out, so I wasn't completely on my own, but the person delivering yesterday wasn't our usual guy and he kept picking everything up in the least efficient way possible which made it all worse... Very ironic considering today I was planning on finally calling the physical therapy office my GP referred me to specifically so that I could learn better strategies for offsetting all the physical strain my job puts on me lol

UGH I JUST REMEMBERED IT'S ALL THE WAY IN MANHATTAN TOO 💀 I'm still going to call them. I am. but jesus

Well I was so excited for my weekend this week and then it turns out I completely fucked myself over instead -___- Thought I was off thu/fri, went to work on wednesday and everything, but I just got an alert from my scheduling app about a shift tomorrow. Texted my manager and we worked out that i was actually supposed to be off wed/thu and somehow I just showed up on wednesday and no one realized i wasn't supposed to be there. But i can't just have off tomorrow anyway because there's too much that needs to get done (pork & lamb delivery among other things) and it was a legitimate error on my end rather than them trying to get me to come in on an actual day off.

Like I could have sworn I got an "incoming shift" alert on tuesday night. I've spent years building a habit that relies on those alerts - I even notice when I don't get one that I'm expecting. But my wednesday punches are notated differently on the scheduling app compared to mon & tues, so like... I guess I really was supposed to be off that day. They're gonna let me do half days on sat/sun to make up for it but still. Ugh. Argh.

Now I'm also upset because I had like. other more positive things I wanted to write down in here but now I can't remember any of them. Uhh one of my roommates bought us all bagels on its way back from work today. That'll be nice for breakfast tomorrow. 

I've also been thinking a lot about the new TF comics. I'm interested in where the story's going and I do love the art but I'm also kind of dreading the fact that GI Joe stuff is apparently going to be involved from the start. I do not and will never care about GI Joe no matter how much they try to rebrand it. Also if I'm being honest I'm still a little miffed that skybound hasn't even tapped Milne or Roche to do a cover yet or anything. Like it's fine on the interiors, DWJ is doing his thing very well and there's no reason to start yanking around the creative lineup before they've even got into a groove yet but man. Milne's been drawing transformers for 20 years and his art has had material impacts on the actual toys sold and you don't want to hire him to draw you a cover? :/

Got back from my brother's wedding yesterday - it was exhausting but a lot of fun! He and his wife met at school in Vermont so they held it up there and it was such a beautiful weekend for it. We got extra lucky since the ceremony & reception were both outside lol - and some of the guests even had to drive up from Long Island through all the flooding. I didn't take a lot of pictures but if my mom sends me any good ones I might add them here later. I was In the wedding so I had to be there for rehearsal and the wedding itself obviously, plus I had to focus on remembering who all the extended family & family friends are and making conversation with them... phew.

Also my brother and his wife are/were both involved in greek life at their school so a big contingent of the wedding guests were their fraternity/sorority siblings, which didn't really help my exhaustion levels lol. It was fine though just very high energy.

I do have a picture of my outfit tho - my mom made it for me herself :3 shopping for formalwear is hell obviously but I lucked out having a mom with a textile engineering degree so I bought her the pattern and the fabric and everything and she put it all together. She also modified one of my dad's old jackets to match it but I didn't get any pictures of that.

I realized on the first fitting months ago that the buttons started too low to cover my binder all the way but by then it was too late to do anything about 😂 It's fine though I still love how it looks - plus now I have A Formal Outfit to wear at other events in the future if I need 🙏

I've been watching old Armored Core LPs recently because I'm interested in the newest game (for extremely shallow robot reasons lol) and in retrospect I shouldn't really keep being shocked by this but the combination of these being fromsoft games in the mecha genre means they keep shooting bits of wildly concerning lore right over your head without even a little bit of followup. In these games it only comes in the form of mission briefings instead of item descriptions (there aren't really "items" that you "pick up" like in the soulsborne games, and if the mech parts you can buy in the shop menu have any description beyond their stats none of the LPers I've watched are choosing to display them) or even any cryptic NPCs you can talk to, so it's even more piecemeal and obviously biased than usual.

Mostly this means it's stuff like "hello mercenary we're hiring you to eliminate this squad of ecoterrorists from a power plant on behalf of the megacorporation that owns it" but just now the mission description opened with "The Maghrib Liberation Front is White Africa's largest anti-establishment group" and then said the fortress they were holed up in was "a holdover from the wars of ethnic cleansing"????? The mission was to blow them up but still. good lord

You know, the real adjustment period I'm having to go through with Tilly is the fact that she's the kind of cat that needs someone to watch her eat... but only after she's down to the crumbs for some reason. She scarfs down two thirds of it no problem but she needs a buddy for the rest of it. Also she keeps wandering off before she actually finishes, so I'm like "ok cool I can go do something else" and then five minutes later she's crying at me to go back and sit in front of her dish again. I have to go make dinner for me too girl

In other news I picked up Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and it's fun as hell *____* Art direction: dope. Platforming: slick. Story: just right (so far. I'm not done yet lol). Soundtrack: absolutely fucking off the charts.

I haven't been able to get any really good pictures of miss Ottolie yet because when she's not napping under my bed she's haranguing me for scritches and won't stay still... She seems to be adjusting well so far, though, and even poked her head out of my room for a bit earlier! She hasn't shown any interest in Poptart's old cardboard hide or the fabric fishy hide that I put out, but hopefully that's only a matter of time. Well, for the fish, at least. The cardboard hide might be too saturated in Pippo smell (& fur) for her lol... but we'll see.

I'm going to go out to petsmart today and see if I can't grab her some stairs up to my bed or a nice short cat tree or something; her missing leg is an amputation rather than a congenital feature, and the surgery was only a month ago, so she's pretty clearly still adjusting to the tripod situation. Wobbly girl... I don't know if she's going to want to use anything like that just yet tbh but I'd rather have it available for her sooner than later.

She also seems to be totally uninterested in dry treats so far (although I have some Churu I want to test out on her), which is extremely funny to me given that Poptart also had no interest in treats. I'm just fated to bond with kitties who can't be treat-motivated for anything I guess 😭

My mom came up the other day in order to deliver me some new shelves (and a real mattress! dont tell anyone but I've been sleeping on an unfolded couch futon (with lots of extra padding but still) for the past 3 years) and I think now I have enough extra space for maybe two or three new transformers 😳 Photos below the cut:

Also on an unrelated note I'm SO glad that T has given me the ability to enjoy cold showers. At least I'm pretty sure it's T-related 🤔 But I used to have to turn the water up to scalding every time, even in the middle of the summer, so it's suuuch a relief to be free of that now.
